Wire came loose...

Postby tcarretti » Fri Dec 29, 2006 4:08 pm

I'm sure that this has been addressed before but all the posts that I have seen simply say that Colby took care of it....

SO....

Was downloading the ROM from the ECU. When I was done and disconnected the cable the wire leading to the white connector came loose from the red crimp connector.

Can I simply recrimp with a new connector or is there something special about the connector that was used?

thanks, it might be a stupid question, but better safe than sorry.

Its just a standard connector suppose its only there so you can remove the flashing socket on the lead for convenience,

yeah you could just re-join it by fitting a new standard plug, or just cut the red plugs off and wire them together permanantly, thats what I did.

Yes - I really debated putting that connector in or not. I just figure for people logging all of the time, or using the cable for Subarus, they would want to remove the reflash connector.
