Im doing all the steps I need to do, but when it comes to the part where I have to turn the ignition to on and press ok.. it won't work. Its not reading and I get an error: "An error occured. See the log for details."

It acts like the cable isn't even plugged in but it says its there on the bottom right.

Additional info: Win XP warns me when I install the drivers for this cable - says they aren't signed. Could that be it? My cable was one of the firsts ones made for the eclipse - and it has never worked since. I've just been waiting for an update... any help would be appreciated - thanks!

I installed the software... pluged in the USB to get the drivers installed... ran the program... clicked read... pluged in the white connector and the OBD connector... turned the iginition switch to on when it asked while pressing "ok" at the same time.

I've also completely uninstalled the software (ECUFlash with the 2 drivers from add/remove programs list)... and resinstalled.... still no go. I also tried it with the older copies of ECUFlash that Ive been saving... still no go. I think its the cable itself. I was one of the firsts for the Mitsu cable - maybe a bad batch? Any way I can get it checked?

2003 Galant

My 03 Galant was stubborn when I first tried to pull a ROM. My friend Fred had a cable for his EVO 8, and tried it on my Galant early this year. The cable worked for EVO Scan but would not connect for ECU Flash.

I thought it was rather in-expensive, and very early in development, so I purchased my own cable just for data-logging. I gave it another shot on my Galant and got it to pull a ROM, never figuring out what happened before when Fred and I tried to pull a ROM with no success.

You may have to follow the re-install instructions listed in EVO 7-8-9 posts.

Can you get EVO Scan to work?

Win XP warns everybody about the drivers, so that is not the issue ;-)

Did you select the right car model ?

Have you tried to turn the ignition on/off a cuople of times (with ecuflash running)?

On the list of cars, there are two options that fix my car's description. I tried both but neither worked.

I've also tried a combination of switching the ignition on / clicking OK in different order and with different time delays.

The cable says its a 1.3 with no letter after the 3... should this be 1.3M for mitsu or 1.3U for universal?

No one on here has an Eclipse? Mine is the 2003 GS AT Eclipse and the site says my car is supported.

http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/Knowledge/EcuFlashUserGuide

and still no go. I think its the cable. Is there any way I can exhange it? I'm willing to pay shipping... I'll look for a support e-mail to contact

Connection questions.

Did you get EVO Scan to work?

If EVO Scan does, and ECU Flash does not, chances are the Flash Connector/Voltage regulator, might be faulty.

I thought I saw in an older post on how the connectors had some issues of having "less than certain" connection on the first batch of 1.3M.

Do you hear any relays clicking at all while trying to connect? If not, that would be a decent sign of a bad flash voltage or connection.

But by using the data-logging software, you can tell if the OBD portion of the cable is copasetic.

Then I would initiate a flash while testing the flash leads with a digital multi-meter, to make sure the flash initiation block is in working order. If all is well it can be narrowed down then to a software or PC issue.

Did you try the ignition setting; ignition on/engine on (but not running)? If not give it a shot.

no relays... and i'll try the ignition trick.

You guys are great, wish I could contribute to this great movement in ECU flashing technology. If I can get this to work, I'm sure I'll get a lot of people on the boat from club3g.com

Would having an SAFC-II installed affect it? could that be the reason? I also have a datalogger translator (www.digimoto.com) installed
