i can do to make it work on my 2006 sti. any parts i can purchase? i know there is a universal wire but since i have this one already i was just wondering if there was anything i can do to make it work on both cars.

It should work without any trouble. All >1.2 cables work on the 32bit Subaru's and EVO's.

The 1.3M cable will not work on 2.0L turbo cars with the HC16 CPU. The 1.3U will.

D'oh! That explains why my 1.3M doesn't work with the HC16 cars.. haha damnit

It makes it easier. Most (?) of the older 2.0L WRX models require the flash blocks. It seems they stopped the requirement ~MY05, and none of the 32bit models require it, but you won't know on a given car until you try.
