Cable problem?

Postby boony » Sat Nov 25, 2006 8:01 am

Hi

Just received my cable (Openport 1.3M) and tried to read the ROM off my Mitsubishi E8 MR FQ-300 but it fails, here's the log.

Code: Select all
[01:09:38.047] Version 1.29.906
[01:09:38.057] 8 memory models read.
[01:09:42.013] 140 ROM metadata models read.
[01:09:42.013] checksum module "subarudbw" loaded.
[01:09:42.013] flashing tool "wrx02" loaded.
[01:09:42.013] flashing tool "wrx04" loaded.
[01:09:42.013] flashing tool "sti04" loaded.
[01:09:42.013] flashing tool "sti05" loaded.
[01:09:42.013] flashing tool "mitsukernel" loaded.
[01:09:42.013] flashing tool "mitsukernelocp" loaded.
[01:09:42.013] flashing tool "mitsubootloader" loaded.
[01:09:58.296] This vehicle interface does not support needed features.
[01:09:58.296] unable to connect to vehicle interface.

any ideas what to try?

No access to another cable unfortunately - they're quite rare here in the UK.

Ecuflash shows the cable as working in the bottom right status pane but as soon as i attempt to read, just get the "does not support needed features" error logged.

Cheers,
Boony

In ecuflash, my cable reports to be a "FT232R USB UART A3001LCw". Most screen dumps say "Openport 1.3" or similar. Is this something to do with my problems?

Evo4Mad:

Yes I also plugged in the white connector. I didn't try EvoScan, but I did try MalibuJack's mitsulogger - it didn't log any data though - created a log but RPM was constantly @ zero.

I believe this is an issue with the drivers for the cable. I'm pretty sure that ECUFlash should report the cable as an "Openport 1.3 Mitsubishi" but it reports it as "FT232R USB UART A3001LCw". I think this is the underlying problem.

I'll try EvoScan when I get chance - I believe it supports zeitronix AFR + boost logging which is what i want to do when I finally get all of this working so you can expect a purchase soon :D

ahh maybe colby forgot to flash the cable before sending it out. when you plug it in, windows should pop up with OpenPort in the description of the new device.

I think that's the case Evo4Mad. Colby is aware of the issue and is going to sort things out for me.

I received some software of Colby this morning that he wrote especially to allow me to flash the cable at my end. Worked a treat and have now successfully read the map from my car!

Many thanks to all who helped, and a big thumbs up for Colby. Cheers!

I'm having the same problem. The cable comes up as "FT232R USB UART A3001LCw" I need that cable flash program.
