EcuFlash with Mitsubishi Legnum/Galant VR-4 6a13tt

Postby Kenny » Sun Nov 12, 2006 2:24 pm

I am interested in getting EcuFlash working on this platform.

I have the OpenPort 1.3M cable and have sucessfully connected to the ECU with EvoScan, however this requires grounding pin 1 of the ODBII connector.

Not quite such a easy road with EcuFlash however as when I try download the ROM I get the following

sending init sequence 1 (0001)
sending init sequence 1 (0003)
sending init sequence 1 (FFFF)
no response to any known code

So I tried (Just in case) with the unlocker running

sending init sequence 1 (0001)
sending init sequence 1 (0003)
sending init sequence 1 (FFFF)
sending init sequence 1 (F0F0)
no response to any known code

I have tried with the diagnostic pin (pin 1) grounded and not with no difference.

Is there anything else I can try to get the ROM? I also have a spare ECU and if it helps I could post pictures of the ECU board etc.

Any suggestions as to how I could try get this utility to work with the ECU to download the ROM would be greatly appreciated :)

ECU Code is MR5 and some other numbers

Cheers,
Kenny

/edit: In case it matters, this is a JDM vehicle.

Thanks.

How did you get the ROM? Also, is there any chance of getting EcuFlash support, or is it impossible to flash the ECU?

Cheers,
Kenny

I get this rom with my own software and hardware. I can not share this program, because I can not any support for this. Users can temporary kill ECUs with this s/w.
About ECUFlash support - ask colby.

I am interested to know what hardware you use, and if the sofware is written by you. I am a programmer myself actually and as such given somwhere to start would be keen to have a go at this myself.

Of course best scenario would be for EcuFlash to eventually support this ECU as it would make life a lot easier... and we all like the idea of an easy life

This link shows you how to ground the correct pin. Photos are from an FTO but the Galant is exactly the same

I've now used ecuflash v1.3.1 to download the ROM from my ECU (cheers Colby!). Can anyone help with creating a definition file?

I tried to download the rom image from Legnum VR-4 by Ecuflash ver.1.3.1 yesterday, but error (the same as the error which is the forefront of this topic) presenting, it finished...

I tried Carisma 1.8 gdi and 3000 gt with ver.1.31 (Evo5/6 item) with Error Window.
I want to ask the same question,

Car needs to be in diagnostics mode before downloading the ROM. See my post above on Dec 27.
