2004 EDM STi reads 2003 on ECU???

So, a customer brought in his STi for me to tune -- he says it's a 2004 STi, and his documentation for the car says 2004 STi (EDM model) ... it has a 2.0 litre motor. When I connect ECUFlash, it doens't work. I get errors. Learning View connects, and I see that the ECU is a 2003??? I don't notice a definition for this ECU anywhere, but I have an old build -- we we have a ROM for the 2003 EDM STi? See attachement.

2 possibilities I can think of:
1. It could be locked (tuned by EcuTek for example)
2. There may be a second set of green test mode connectors you need to join before it will go into reflash mode. Look behind drivers side kick panel, and hanging down behind glovebox.
You can use ROMRaider to read the state of the test mode connector, to make sure it's correct before trying to reflash. Alternatively, when you key on in test mode, the thermo fans should cycle.
