Flash Programming Errors

Hi all

I am a newbie in this forum and was wondering if this is the right place to post this question.

I am trying to flash an ECU but am getting a negative response error to the seed request 27 01. The 7F response I receive is 7F 27 37 indicating (based on description of the protocol) that the "required time has not expired" for this request to respond with a valid seed. If this is true does anyone have any ideas what is generally the reason for this type of response. i.e. generally would you simply sit there and retry the request after so many seconds, hours, days etc or is there a method that allows for me to continue.

The ECU is made by Magnetti Marelli and is actually for a VW Polo. I realise that the majority of the users here are Subaru / Mit enthusiasts so any info would be highly appreciated.

Kind regards

Andy
