tumble valve voltage?

Postby engr » Fri Jul 07, 2006 10:12 am

I wanted to know what the voltage of the tumble valve is when open and closed. Mine is at 0.3V once the car starts logging from ecuexplorer.. West_minist and I are trying to track down some problems, and may think that this valve is infact shut..

can someone verify or do a log of the tumbler valve left and right and post here so I can see if mines is working.

Thanks.

.3 V is open. ~4.5 V is closed. I have a log of the valves opening at home. I can post it tomorrow.

Thanks for confirming.. but does it stay fully open? mines stays at .3 regardless of idle or off idle.. the manual says it should be closed during idleing..

AFAIK, only when idling AND cold (I assume based on coolant temp). If your engine isn't cold, they stay open regardless of activity.

Mine do NOT close at idle. My manual says they should, but they don't.
