anyone has the problem to connect to ecu??

hey everyone i have 2005 subaru wrx and
i try to connect to the ecu to get file out but it doesn't seen want to connect
i connect the green wire and use com 3 and com 6
none of them work
so far i down load 1.27 sofeware
and hardware for the cable..
is there anything else i missing??
