Hello Danny,

The OpenPort hardware is capable of reflashing the ECU, but it's a matter of needing software and a definition. EcuFlash does not support Nissan currently, although the 350z is a vehicle Tactrix would like to support eventually. We've had several requests to support this vehicle.

Thanks for the offer Danny. We'll keep you posted on our progress. Right now we're getting ready to release a new version of EcuFlash and shortly after that we'll be looking at which vehicles to add next.

Danny:

Could you provide a picture of the ecu PCB ?

I believe this is Hitachi ecu based on Renesas SH7058 that is readable thru AUD port and writeable in SHboot mode.

Any chance you'll support other Nissan vehicles as well after you support the 350z? I bought an Openport 2.0 so I can play with my RX-8 ECU but I also have a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder I'd like to tune a little bit. It is the same VQ35DE V6 engine as the 350z so maybe the ECU's are the same or similar? Also willing to provide whatever you need.

If the ECU in your Pathfinder is the same or similar, then there is a good chance you could read and reflash the Pathfinder ECU if we support the 350z but the challenge will be creating the definition file, which is sure to be different. With support for the ECU but without the definition file you can read out the raw data but you won't know which table is where in that sea of hexidecimal information.

IMA most importend ist to be able to read and wirte an ECU !

So If ECUflash is able to support a ECU type, pls do, even without deffinitons

If I got an original dump, I can create the ECU deffintions simular to known dumps, or if I got enough time, I can debug the dump ...

95% of all tunings files are made witch only a few imported maps known in the dump.
These maps are normaly found in comparision to know maps of other cars.

Not the best way to tune, but the way is is done so fare

Agreed. Open source works best when you let the community assist on the progress. If you can support read/write of an ECU, you should let the users have access to it so we can play with it.

I can reflash any 2003+ Nissan /Infiniti now (finally!)

Done years of research and finally got it down. I made a kernel to read / write and can modify every map, disable dtc's and even disable NATS (anti theft) so you can install engine in any other car with no worries.

If you are local to Southern california I offer this as a service bringing the car to me. If you don't live in SoCal, you can mail me ecu and I can flash to your specs and send ecu back. PM me for more info if interested. Works on all SH7055 and SH7058 Nissan ECUS (2003+) This took me many many hours over past couple years but finally got it down.

The system I use cannot be easily made but I can help people if they want to tune their nissans.
