Denso ECU in a wasted spark car?????? NA Legacy?

So I was working on a Lagacy with a turbo kit recently and I was very surprised to see that the the ecu had a newer style case. It had a Denso ecu in it!!!!

Does that make any sense to anyone??

I read the numbers off the processor...

It looked very similar to the pics in this post of a similar ecu out of an OBS.
