i read about this on the the evolutionm.net forums and a friend with an sti also told me about you guys. i sent mail to mynesperformance regarding this as well. i'm not really sure who i need to contact, but i'm just wanting to find out what the tiburon community needs to do in order to get this software for our cars (along with the proper hardware).

i made a post on the newtiburon.com forums about you guys to see what kind of interest there is. i will also be trying to talk to a vendor to see if they are interested in working with this software.

that is a link to the thread i made on that site.

a little info about my car. i have a 2003 hyundai tiburon v6 with a vortech v-5 g trim supercharger with about 315whp. all i have for tuning is a wideband, odbii scanning software, and safcii.

I think step 1 is to crack the ECU open and see what processor and other primary ICs is has, see if there are datasheets available on them. I believe the ECU package is produced by Seimens, while most of the work here is on Denso packages, so it may be a very different setup.

It is unfortunate there is no one with a flash program for the Tiburon. REAL used to, but they're gone now. I believe they literally desoldered the processor. I have to assume Hyundai has a way to flash the ECU through the OBD port. They have TSBs that require ECU reprogramming just like everyone else.

i realize they wouldn't be the same, but it's worth a shot to see if it can be done.

here's to hoping we can get the ECU cracked, and finally get complete control of our vvt!

If someone has a spare ECU to loan, I'll be happy to check it out.

I would definately be interested in this; I will try to locate a spare ECU or even buy one if I can find one at a decent price (I have no idea what they even cost to tell you the truth). I will keep you posted. I am hoping we can get this rolling as I need a tune badly because my car is running rich; plus I am wanting cams...which REAL stole some of my $$ for! So they are out of the question...

Tiberon V6 uses a siemens ecu with a infineon C167-CR microprocessor

The early variant ecu has a 29F400BB, the latter (september 04+) 29F800B.

The ecu flash can only be read via diagnostics with a program uploaded to ram just like the subaru, as the factory code only facilitates programming.

The ecu speaks Kwp2000 protocol on the K-line.

Attached is a read from a tiberon flash for disassembly ;)

best regards,
bing
