noob question re: 160kb vs 192kb

Postby ECUPancakes » Tue May 02, 2006 7:35 pm

Okay, I dumped (and posted) my A4SGE01C ROM, but it is 160kb. From searching around, I understand that ECUFlash does this in newer versions.

Am I able to flash this image straight back to the ECU? Or must I make it 192KB first? If I need to make it 192KB, how do I do this?

If I need to make it 192KB, why does ECUFlash save it as 160KB? Or did I do something wrong?

160k image does not contains the RAM area whereas 192K image do.

You can flash with 160K image.

In order to convert a 160K image to a 192K, you may use ECUEdit, there is an entry in the main menu to do this job ;)

Thanks. Is there any downside to flashing with the 160KB image? or does it work exactly the same.
