07 WRX help: Raising rev limit from 6700 to 7100rpm problems

Postby euroboost » Wed Mar 31, 2010 8:01 pm

I tried to increase RPM limit with ECUFLASH from 6700 to 7100 for the stock rom but after the flash there was no difference in the car's behaviour, RPM was still the same 6700rpms. First I thought the ECU wasn't flashed but then when I read the flashed ROM I confirmed it was modified.

What could have happened here?, this is the first time it doesn't do what I write. Could my tactrix cable be messed up?, is the deffinition ok?

You have to increase your REQUESTED TORQUE (ACCELERATOR PEDAL) value also. It's in DBW menu. You are not hitting rev limiter, your throttle plate is just closing.

hey, thanks a lot for your reply.

On my ROM requested torque at 100% throttle, start to decrease from 4800rpms but has a drastic reduction from 230 to 70 at 6500rpms, will there be any issue if I raise this value from 70 to 230? or I'd just be raising the torque limiter?

I have modified the values on this map. But what you need is to change the RPM. You want 7100 rpm, so you change the last rpm cell to 7100 and then the cell right above it to 7050. Your values are probably different but this is Subaru's way of having a 'soft' rev limiter. Throttle starts closing couple hundred rpm before set redline. Then it basically closes your throttle to about 20%.
So, in my screen shot, I highlighted the 2 cells you need to change, and you will be able to reach 7100 rpm. They are highlighted GREY.
