noob staring a search box not sure what to type

Postby MrFuts » Fri Nov 20, 2009 12:11 pm

Ethically I don't want to go into great details, but I want to research before I draw this to someones attention.

I have a car that is not a Mitsubishi or Subaru.

I do ECU flash testing for a company that has provided me the ability through hardware and software to take their maps and load to the ECU. They have software that creates these maps but is approximately $5,000 US for their dealers. Thing is this software doesn't load to the ECU.

My question is then, what do I look at now? I want to create my own maps so I can load them. The vendor is looking at an option to allow the average person create their own maps, but don't have the resources to do it themselves. So I am not here to say I have a solution for this community! I just want to go back to the vendor and say 'look at what these guys are doing' and 'this is how they are doing it'.

Hi Futs;

The fun is in programming the ecu for your own ride base on the customization and the intention of the user (power / economy / reliability / drag-race), not buy a solution off the shelf and expect it to be the ultimate. With the myriad combinations of user customizations for the powertrain, a hardware interface with user programmable ECU mapping parameters would be ideal. Let me know when you have one available for sale that is equivalent to the Tactrix Openport 2.0 pricing :mrgreen:
