Thanks,

So the only thing that I will loose is the stuff that the ecu has learned like knock correction etc.

I will give it a try!

I have designed products in the past that used this chip that have had production quantities that are probably near a half million at this point, without the type of problem you are mentioning, so I don't think it is the chip in general. Most USB products I have designed these days don't use a chip like this because USB can be done inside the microcontroller, but I think it works well for this application.

I sent you an email on this with no reply.

Did you receive it? I resent one this morning.

My cable has gone back giving trouble.

Please advise me what to do.

I just got mine! Thanks, Colby. I love your declaration.

I'm still at the office (where I had it delivered), but plugging it in to my Fedora Core 4 workstation properly identified it as and FTDI-based USB serial device. I ran my test SSM program on it and it took the configuration. Can't wait to get home and try it. (Now if only I had a laptop...)

Thanks!

Hi Colby!

Have you been able to look @ my old cable that I sent you?

Have you found out why it stopped working?

The new cable you sent me only work for 2-3 days and since then, would not come as usb <> serial.

I plan to try it tomorrow with some other laptops, beside my desktop and laptop.

I normal keep the cable in the car.

I believe so far that I am the only one getting this problem.

Could my ECU be damaging the device?????

Is there any other way of getting hold of one of these?

My UK credit card is not usually recognised in the US (switch/mastro) and I'm pretty sure it won't work on Tactrix site cos it does not ask for valid from date which is needed for this type of card.

Anychance of paying by paypal?

Does anyone know if the Serial cables to OBD2 that come with Delta Dash or Street tuner work with EcuFlash?

Thanks

Unfortunately, it won't because your serial port won't do some of the unusual baud rates needed in the reflash process. Also, some cars require flashing voltages or other signals on the OBDII connector to perform the reflash. What car are you looking to flash?
