Hi, good day. Me and my friend just came from the dyno shop today hoping we could tune his EVO 7. when the tuner checked the ecu, he told us that he cant reflash the ECU because its JDM. I think he's using the program "ECU FLASH" but i'm not so sure. Here is the details.. (Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 7/ Manufacture date 2001/ JDM ECU). Hope you guys can help us with it. thanks a lot. more power.

nonsense ,you can flash all evo 7 ecus with ecuflash what exactly was the problem , def file ???. its prob 98640014 .

alternatively he can use a modified tephra 90550001 ralliart rom , has some nice extras .

he told me he doesnt have the file or software to tune the JDM ECU of the evo 7. what are the other options that you can share/suggest sir?

he just told me sir that unlike the ECU of a EUDM or the australian EVO7s, the Japan or JDM ECUs cant be reflashed because he only has the files for EUDM EVO7s. Our car is from japan that is why its ECU is JDM. What do you think should i do sir? badly need your help. thanks in advance.

Is he using ecuflash , we fitted evo7 jdm ecu into evo3/ 4/5/6 and never had a problem . Can he download the existing rom and e mail it to me then il send him the def file .

i have one of my old 1.8 gsr turbo 1996 and my wiring is run evo2 .
i plan to do is swap or change my wiring to evo 5,6,7 and ecu rom to my car .
but i scare won't work ..
any body do this swap before and can tune with ecu reflash ?
