2009 WRX Issues

Postby suby » Sat Jul 18, 2009 2:04 pm

First off I would like to start by saying "Hi" to everyone. I am new here and just recently purchased my first Subaru. I bought the Tactrix module and downloaded Rom Raider and Ecuflash. However, I cant seem to get the module to "See" my ECU. I only purchased the Can Bus adaptor and the cable. The guy at Tuner tules said I didnt need the jumpers for the 09. Is there something I am supposed to bypass in order for it to work? I was told to update the firmware for the open port 2.0 module but can not find any firmware updates..... only definitions. I am new to all of this and would really appreciate any help that I can get. I am a 12v specialist and will try to answer any car audio/video and security questions anyone might have.

Thanks, Wayne

What steps are you following to try to read it? Look in the bottom corner of your ecuflash window and make sure it sees the openport cable. When you hit read, it will ask what type of ecu you are trying to read. Make sure you select the correct one for your year/model. Wait until just before you hit enter for it to turn the key to the on position. If you could post up your ecuflash log it would help too.

Thanks for responding. I plugged the module in and then opened up ecuflash on my laptop. I selected canbus for 2007+. It tried to read it but gave me an error message. I wont be able to try it again until this weekend becasue of my work schedule. I think I had the ignition on the whole time. I will wait to turn it on right before hitting enter this time. I will post the results when I am able to try again.

Thanks Again, Wayne
