Hyundai Genesis Coupe - reflashing needed!

Postby jdgrimm » Mon Apr 27, 2009 9:01 pm

Hey forum members and the powers that be, the new Genesis Coupe(2.0 turbo) has been taking off like crazy over the last few months and is in dire need of reflashing software. I believe the ECU in this car is similar to the Mitsu ECU so maybe it would be possible to use the current software for Mitsu as a building block for the Genesis Coupe?

I think it would be an awesome step in the opensource world if the very first reflashing capability for a brand new vehicle was open source!!

Don't some BMW's run the Siemens ecu? maybe that's the route to go. Traffic is slow here.

The nearest match I see is on this website : http://www.seoulfulracing.com

The name of the person is Jay, who does ECU tuning for Beta & V6. The ECU to be sent to them, with special instructions if needed be, and returned with the same ECU with parameters remapped. Email him at cs@seoulfulracing.com. He is very prompt in answering

Search the website with keyword "ECU", and all the turbo kits, complete with ECU will be displayed :D :D

Apparently people are looking for a reprogramming interface with interactive software. I have the link below that will go straight to the device, but not sure if it will do 2.0T. The choices appear to be 2.0 N/A VVT, 2.5, 2.7. Also, there were previous discussions that the device will do only Korean domestic ECU's, but not USDM. However, www.seoulfuracing.com able to flash any ECU from all over the world. Any chance all ECU's are equivalent ?

NGM house of power has a device that will flash, but no interface software (dumb device). That is why I mentioned "nearest match"

I dont need to tune one right now. but since i have already used ECU Flash and am familiar with it somewhat was hoping there would be some active development as i see this car will be a big hit in say 2-3 years when the used car market gets involved.
