Battery died while reflashing my 05' 2.5 Legacy GT-NEED HELP

Postby Zeus » Tue Nov 11, 2008 10:52 pm

So how screwed am I? In the middle of the flash, the battery died. I couldn't figure out why the flash stopped in the middle of the opperation until I tried to roll the windows up.

Can I just replace the car battery and reflash from scratch?

I'd attached the log file... but it won't let me. Says "the extention array is not allowed".

Found this in another thread that was unanswered, yet this is like my error message less the part about if you turn the car off the ECU may become unusable:

Wow... 26 views and not even a suggestion of who to talk to :(

Tried to flash again today... no dice. It can't even read the ECU now. Is there a way to fix this?

There are a few companies who can repair this sort of fault... check post from LOK11 here http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic.php?t=2678

Thanks for the link... it's looking like getting a used ECU might be the quickest fix though. I've found them for less than $200. I was just hoping someone with the know how would be willing to walk me through a fix I could do for $$$ in exchange. It's sounding like you have to have different hardware to do that though :(

Can't say enough about about the Tactrix service... sent the ECU Express both ways and had it back in my hands, good as new in three working days. These guys are worth their weight in gold!!!!!!!
