Im new, just want a little help

Hi, my name is Dave. I think this is a great idea, an open source ECU. I own a Jetta, but I would just like to be involved, i have a CS background. I would like to know where to start, i have started doing some research. I know most people here have suburus and EVOs, but i was wondering if someone could help me get the .bin file from my ECU, Jetta. I would like to try to reverse engineer it and start playing around with that. Or if anyone knows where i can get any file to try to reverse engineer, that would be helpful too.

Also i see there are many projects that people are doing here that have to do with development. I hope to learn more about some of those projects and hopfully my CS background can be of some help.
