Spectacular!
May we inquire about how the extraction took place? This looks like a partial ROM only; no vector table, etc.

Do you know what processor it runs - so I can try to dissassemble in IDAPro?

Also - are ther any tools (interfaces availeble) to read and flash - similar to those on Evos or WRX?

I have had two requests on CX7 reflash already - so I am curious what is the story here. :)

Looks like a 7058 or some variant to me (big endian), so IDA Pro should do the trick... does anyone have the first 32k that seems to be missing from the attached hex dump?

Some more details on the ecu.

The ecu has the SH7058 MCU.

Best regards

Wow, you have done some work, nice job!
So I'm taking it that nobody has a ROM dump that contains the first 32k?

Hi,

It is nice that somebody try to communicate with mazda.
I am still looking for any hints how to communicate with MAZDA RF4S ECU (it is denso DENSO) This ecu is for MAZDA diesel (DITD) engine created between 1998-2002) My version was sold at Germany market).
The OBD connector has only pins 4,5,7 and 16 as I remember corectly (only one K-line interface).
But standard interface based on ELM327 is not working.
Does any knows how to wakeup this ECU via OBD?

Hi all,

I just picked up a new Mazdaspeed3 and want to try and help get this to work for it. So, which cable did you guys use to pull the ROM? And which software??

As far as I know, only Piasini Engineering has a commercial solution for reading and writing these. Their Serial Suite is a *bit* on the expensive side though. I'm not sure where the 'partial' ROM above came from; all involved seem to be quite secretive about this at present.

Hmm... I don't mind doing the work to pull apart the ROM code, i just need to get it first. And need a cable to pull it/flash it.

C'mon guys, the money is not made by hiding the technology...
