replacing the ecu

Postby sti_06 » Wed Mar 05, 2008 10:17 pm

I have an edm2006sti flashed by ecutek. I had many problems with my dealer. Therefore I have just bought a new ecu to benefit from opensource. When I replace my ecutek ecu with the new one, immobiliser must be coded for the new ecu.

1- I want to know if there will be any problem while coding the immobiliser to the new ecu because of ecutek(can they lock my immo like my ecu or smt. like that?)

2- Also if I plug my ecutek ecu again, the immo should be coded again for the ecutek ecu. In this case, can there be any problem since the ecu locked by ecutek.(is there any possibility that we are not able to code the immobiliser again to ecutek ecu because of this lock?) Also, if there is no problem, will the rom file in this ecu be affected by this re-coding?

I am very confused. Pls help.
Thanks
