Can someone Help! regarding flashing Subaru WRX, ecuexplorer

Postby dazwrx » Mon Jan 21, 2008 3:10 am

My car is A Subaru WRX 2004 Non USDM

This is where i'm at, using ecuexplorer i can connect to the car and am able to reset ecu.
I want to download rom image to my Laptop

I connect the green plugs and jumper the block

I can start process for downloading rom image to my laptop, it comes up with file save as, so i enter a file name (by the way does it make any difference what the file is called?) then click save. It then tries to access ecu but comes up with the following below:

ecuFlash [20/01/08 @ 21:01:00]
1452 byte kernel read.
kernel checksum is valid (n = 2).
kernel image loaded and verified.
denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
denso02_bootloader_cmd_start
kernel flash disable
rkrv: preamble 1 no response
process complete

but it saves no file????????????????????

can anyone help
do i need to change to alternative settings in the default.
can you also tell me should the green plugs stay connected when driving??????????????
by the way i have tried using other ecuflash software and it doesn't even connect to the car.

:?

Hi
when you enter the save name make sure you put .hex afterthe name ie

mysti.hex

then click save.

If that doesn't work try using ECU Flash program

Run program click on "Read from Ecu" then you will see a box asking which vehicle you have click on the one you have then continue

It will say something like connect green connector and flash block connector then turn on your ignition then click go straight away.

Try that and good luck
