I made an Harness adapter according to these instructions for a IV to use with a USDM VIII ecu part no: MN 132874. No start but get the foll. 3 MIL codes:

1. P0183 Fuel Temperature Sensor A Circuit High Input
2. P0113 Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input
3. P0107 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input

Tried this ecu straight up on a JDM VIII RS still no start but showed a MIL with: P0183 Fuel Temperature Sensor A Circuit High Input

This car runs perfect with its own jdm ecu, wonder what's wrong with my usdm ecu or is there anything to do on a usdm ecu to work on a jdm car.

The EVO IV is also a JDM RS.

Thanks,

Any help to disable the P0183 code? not too sure how to wire the pin 40 on the patch harness. Should I disconnect it from the car's harness end of the patch harness and join it to pin 92 or pin 26 is a better option. What should I do with pin 91.

Use a 7 rom instead of an 8.

All is fine except for code P0135 which I believe is the heater circuit for the front O2 sensor. Is there a way to disable it on the program rather than wiring up a resistor?

Send me your ROM and I will see if I can disable the heater.

Wiring up a resistor didn't help to get rid of the heater code, any luck disabling it

you need a 15 OHM 30watt resistor

I'm sure that I went as low as 10ohms but the resistor was a 5watt, does that matter for a brief moment. I wired the resistor to pin 54 and pin 25 (12ve), is my wiring right? I made sure the fault code was cleared using a scanner but kept recurring.

yep pin 54 and use an external 12v source not the ECU supply,
use a 15ohm must be 15ohm, 10ohm is too small,
and as the heater circuit draws 1.5 amps or so you will need a high wattage resistor 30w or it will heat up and burn out,

BarryC. I noticed you said the immobilizer code for the evo 8 rom was removed. Inspecting the rom I see the immobilizer code set to BD0D.

Could you explain this setting? Reason I ask is I hear that playing with the immobilizer code can be dangerous and have never altered it before. Most people (on evolutionm.net) say you should save a copy of the original rom because if u lose your immobilizer code you're screwed. I usually see a 4 digit number in most ROMs I pull.

I'm looking to do an Evo 7 ECU conversion on an Evo 6. I'll most likely use a JDM 7 GSR stock rom but I'm asking just in case.

Just change the BD0D to FFFF and the immobiliser code is then removed ;)
