Mitsubishi Evo flashing

Hi all,
I've been working on Evo 1-3 (EPROM based) ECU tuning for some time now and have just started work on Evo 4+ when I stumbled upon this fantastic community. From what I've read so far, there is an Evo version in the pipeline but what stage is it at?

I've written my own SH reflashing kernel and am flashing Evo 7/8 right now. I'm waiting to hear back from a friend regarding success with the Evo 9. I'm trying to source the special connector from Japan to put together a OpenPort cable for people that can easily plug into the Evo and reflash it. The reflashing work is basically done - I'm just working on some other details of the program right now. I have added a lot since the last version of EcuFlash. I'm also debating releasing a full version with the map editing, or just the reflash tool. In some ways the tool is awkward until it is complete.

Sounds good. Have you tried it on Evo 5 and 6 yet? I have access to both 5 and 6 if it's any help?
I would suggest Evo 4 as well but the PCB I have looks like a bit of a halfway house between Evo 1-3 and Evo 5/6. The MPu is a 100pin unit that I'm still trying to identify.

What processor is in the Evo 5/6? Can you read the numbers off of the CPU, give me the pin count, and tell me which pins the crystal is connected to (and also the crystal frequency)? Some pictures of the PCB would be useful also.

MH7202F Renesas chip on the E5/6.

Forgive my ignorance (I'm still learning here

) but I assume the crystal is the silver item with the yellow label near the plug?

Looks to be from the H8/500 series. A H8/539F (128k flash), I believe. Different processor core than the newer EVOs which use SH-2. I would have to write a new kernel for this car.

you can see links to these old datasheet here, but they are nowhere on the Renesas site anymore.

I assume the writing of a new kernel is quite an undertaking. Would it be a viable prospect? Would there be anything I can do to help?

I'm just looking for some information on a UC like this one : MH7203 so should be close to your UC. If you find more information on this one, let me know, will do the same

No worries. What vehicle is the MH7203 from?

Not a vehicle
This ECU is in a MY2005 Kawasaki jetski (I think it is common to all Kawasaki). I'm just cleaning all the board right now ... just know the reference and then will need to count for pins and find oscillator.
Colby, let me know if you have any experience or material for this UC

Crikey, they've come a long way since I was last dabbling with jetski's.

UC is 28 pins by side, as in evo 5/6. Hope that even if reference is not exactly the same, I will find some common parts !!
I'm looking for an ISP connector on this board and still cleaning to find oscillator.

Here is what the board looks like right now, no ISP found right now.
