Hi,

Today i received the Evoscan cable (OpenPort) and tried to datalog my E6 RS2 EDM (MY99), however i can't do it...

Anyone has an idea what could be the problem?

It shows the message:

Info: Waiting for INIT Response...
Info: Initializing At 5 baud...

And then it pops-up a window saying Turn OFF/ON the vehicle and try again.

Also, with the cable it came a white connector... am i supposed to connect it somewhere?

Thanks,
Pedro

If you want to datalog then you need to put a wire between pin 1 and 4 of the obd II port ;)

This will flash the engine light so you know it's connected right.

Then evoscan will connect ;)

Hi Cossie,

The engine light starts blinking when i connect the cable even without connecting pins 1 and 4 from OBD2.
Do i have to connect them anyway?

Do you know what the white connector stands for?

Thanks,
Pedro

Then you need to make sure you have the drivers for the cable installed (should be installed with ecuflash or evoscan) as once the light is flashing then it should work.

Also check that the baudrate is set to 15625.

And that you haven't ticked for it to log external wideband if your using 2.0 or 2.1

The white connector is only needed when your flashing a map into the ecu (which can't be done with a 6 ecu yet).

I think the drivers are installed.

The baud rate is the one you said.

However i have one wideband selected (the LM-1) but i can't disable it. It has always one of the wideband devices selected, i can only choose one between all that are available.

I know i can't reflash the E6 ECU but i thought i could at least read the original ROM...

in the options of what to log, take the tick out of the wideband and see if it will connect and log then ;)

If so you need to mess around with your comport settings to get it to work with your LM1.

As for reading your map, give it a try, but I am 99% sure you won't beable to read the map ;)

Hi,

Still no sucess in datalogging my car...

It keeps showing this message:

Info: Waiting for INIT Response...
Info: Initializing At 5 baud...
Info: Initialization Complete...
Info: Waiting for INIT Response...
Info: Datalogger Ended.

And to turn off/on the engine...

The baud is set at 15625, timeout is 1000 ms, the widebands aren't selected...
The engine light is flashing without stopping...

Could it be some problem with drivers or ports?

Regards,
Pedro

Hi fellows,

Today i managed to connect my E6 to the laptop.
As said by cossie1 i had to connect pins 1 and 4 from OBD2 port.

However, the datalogging is giving me values completely strange and not real as you can see in the below images.

Anyone has an idea what could be the problem?

Also during the datalogging sometimes the engine starts to sound a bit weird like the timing wasn't very correct... Is it normal?

Thank you in advance for your help/opinions...

Regards,
Pedro

Try changing the baud rate to 15625

Yep...
That was the problem.

Thank you cossie1.

Next step upload an E7 Ralliart Rom to an E8 260 ECU and run it in my E6....

In mine, i connected pin1 and 4 from ODB2 port as you said, connected the OBD plug and also the white plug and used the ECU Flash to read it...

No problems at all, it was more difficult for me to get the EvoScan working...

If you want i can send you the file i read.

My E6 is a RS2 and EDM version, MY99.
