Evoscan/Mitsulogger on Evo V and VI

Postby russ » Fri Jun 01, 2007 1:02 pm

Can't seem to get either logger to work on Evo V and VI.
Have had no problems on Evo VII VIII or IX, it works immediately.

Anyone know what I need to do differently?

are u using the tactrix cable? If so it won't work unless pins 1 and 4 are connected. (Check this thread for more info http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic.php?t=1242 ) for any JDM mitsubishi before 2001 you should use the evoscan cable:

http://www.limitless.co.nz/cables/

1.4E to log and reflash./ 1.3M to log

Also remember that ecuflash will only read the ROM on evo IV to VI...you cannot reflash at this time.

When you get the limitless.co.nz cable use Ecuflash 1.31 and make sure you have the most recent definition files.

The H8 kernel was one of the issues with evo VI ecus...it has been resolved with EcuFlash 1.31...so now u can read the ecu ROM

Refer to this thread for more info: http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic.php?t=2842

I have no clue the technical differences between limitless and tactrix cable but limitless cable have a weird symptom. All of my 3 ACD led and ABS light flashing when connected using limitless cable. It went away after driving about 10 mph. This doesn't happen with tactrix cable.

ok thanks. What i don't understand it's i've to connect pin 1 and 4 but on my tatrix cables there's only pin 4,5,7,9,11,15,16 but no pin 1 !!!

Pin 4 should be a ground one.

join pins 1 and 4 on the obd socket on the car not the cable, the eng light will flash dont worry about this.
what i did was splice into the wires before the socket and put in a switch

the limitless cable has diagnostic lights.. pre 1998 mitsubishis need this to even work with a laptop, thats why its better than the tactrix cable.

to be honest I was the one who originally put everyone on to the pin 1 and 4 thing... yes it will work, although. I am starting to second guess it now, and am thinking of connecting a different pins.. I will need to make a change to the Evoscan software though... i will let you know how I get on this week, because this is my priority at the moment.
